Ethos Closure Update
Keeping moving
Physical activity is vital to our mental wellbeing, and even more so whilst we have fewer opportunities to be outside. Over the coming days, you’ll see more information on our website on how we’re expanding and upgrading the MoveFromHome package.
Keep an eye on this page, and the Move Imperial Instagram and Twitter for more information as it becomes available.
Ethos COVID-19 Safety Guidelines
What will be changed?

Frequently Asked Questions
We have added a new section specifically to answer queries about your Ethos membership and COVID-19.

Attending Imperial College campus during COVID-19
The Imperial has introduced a Code of Conduct for everyone to help ensure the wellbeing of our community. To reflect this, we have also extended our membership Terms and Conditions.

Enhanced cleaning
We'll be sanitising equipment throughout the day and implementing an enhanced cleaning scheduled across the centre. You'll also see hand sanitizer stations throughout the building - please use these whenever you enter or exit the gym, class, pool or sports hall.

Changing facilities
Due to their size, most changing facilities at Ethos are unable to facilitate social distancing. As such, there will be no access to dry changing rooms, showers or lockers when we reopen so we ask that you change prior to arriving at Ethos. We will have some storage for individual bags or items, but this will be limited. Wet changing rooms will be available for those with pool bookings; there will be a limited number of lockers and social distancing measures will be in place.

Reduced facilities
Certain services will remain closed for a while longer. The SW7 class programme will be temporarily paused to allow the functional gym space to be used by all users whilst the sauna and steam rooms will remain closed until further notice.

Social distancing
You'll see new signs across the facility, including one-way systems in certain areas. We ask that you follow these measures carefully and always maintain 2m distance from fellow users.

Pre-booking
We'll need to carefully control how many people are using Ethos at any one time. This means that you'll have to pre-book a timed slot when you want to visit, including for all classes, gym sessions, sports hall bookings and pool use - you won't be able to enter the building without a booking. This also means it's more important than ever that you check-in to any classes as you arrive.

Changes to classes
In order to carefully manage the amount of people in Ethos, we're running a reduced number of classes for the time being. Class sizes will also be smaller and some types may not be reintroduced for the foreseeable future.
